Manfred Lautenschläger Award
The award, made possible by Manfred Lautenschläger through his foundation, specifically benefits the humanities and cultural studies, whose role as guiding disciplines for our present-day world he emphasizes through his focus on history, society, and culture. It is intended to serve as both a “recognition” and a “driving force” for young researchers.
The award is endowed with 10,000 euros and will be awarded for the first time in 2022.
Who is eligible for nomination?
Authors nominated for the award must be no older than 35 years of age on the submission deadline. The proposed works must have been accepted as scholarly achievements by a university or research institute in the state of Baden-Württemberg and must have been published or submitted for publication within the past two years. The award cannot be split among multiple recipients.
Who may submit nominations?- All members of the Philosophical and Historical Class of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities
- The leadership of all academic institutions at universities in Baden-Württemberg (rectors, deans, Managing Directors, department heads)
- the leadership of all non-university research institutions in Baden-Württemberg (Managing Directors)
- Self-nominations are not permitted
