Exceptional achievement deserves recognition. That is why the State Academy of Baden-Württemberg, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, awards annual science prizes for outstanding scientific achievements in both the natural sciences and the humanities.

The awards are intended for early-career researchers and are awarded for work conducted at a research institution in Baden-Württemberg. Each award is endowed with €10,000.

The awards will be awarded during the 2026 Annual Celebration of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Upon receiving the award, the awardees also become members of the Academy College of the Young Academy | HAdW for a period of five years.
Eligible to submit nominations are members of the Academy as well as senior administrators of all academic institutions at universities and all non-university research institutes in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Self-nominations are not permitted.
