Please also note the general conditions for submitting applications. The application is made in two stages:
Stage 1
You submit a draft proposal by 9 December 2022 (download the sample proposal to be used, rtf). In this outline, which corresponds to a letter of intent, you indicate without obligation
- give the provisional title of the project,
- explain the research question and a possible approach,
- indicate any co-applicants already identified from other subject areas and from which subject areas, if any, further co-applicants should be involved.
The Academy will review the draft proposals received and invite all selected applicants to a one-day discussion (networking meeting) on 23 January 2023.
The travel costs of the applicants for long-distance trains (2nd class) will be covered by the Academy in accordance with the State Travel Costs Act.
On this day, the applicants will have the opportunity to talk to each other, to get to know the project proposals of their colleagues, to consult with each other and either to find co-applicants for their own interdisciplinary projects or to design joint interdisciplinary projects based on the discussions. The aim is for applicants from different disciplines to come together, define a joint project and then jointly submit a full proposal.
Stage 2
The interdisciplinary full proposal to be prepared after the networking meeting must be submitted to the Academy by 30 April 2023. Please use the sample application (rtf) as a basis for this. Only jointly submitted applications from different disciplines will be accepted. A funding decision is expected in mid-September.
