Duration: 2004 to 2013

The project resulted in a bibliographic, and at the same time documentary repertory was compiled that covers the entire field of the literary reception history of antiquity and the Middle Ages for the period between 1500 and ca. 1630, including later reprints (up to the 19th century). In accordance with international guidelines, all forms of textual transmission from the period before 1500 were taken into account among early modern editors, translators, and commentators. The accompanying paratexts were reprinted, annotated with regesta and substantive commentary, and in each case documented in terms of their subsequent printing history; furthermore, each entry was introduced by biographical portraits and, where possible, a comprehensive list of the relevant scholarly literature.

The project covered the region of Germany (Section I: The Electoral Palatinate and its outlying areas – Section II: Baden, Further Austria, and Württemberg). It was part of a collaborative research project involving European research projects in cooperation with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris.
