Other Research Projects

In addition to the long-term projects of the National Academies Program, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (HAdW) is home to numerous research initiatives. This overview presents the broad spectrum of our externally funded projects, state-level initiatives, and scientific collaborations.

An edition of the older university records of Heidelberg University, whose significant value as a source for institutional, economic, and intellectual history has been made accessible through critical editing.

Edition of Reuchlin's Correspondence

The mission of the research project, established in Pforzheim from 1994 to 2007, was to produce a critical and annotated edition of the correspondence of Johannes Reuchlin (1455–1522), who was born in Pforzheim.

Archaeometry

The research project focuses on the development and application of scientific investigative methods for archaeological and cultural-historical topics, with a particular emphasis on physical dating and Holocene landscape reconstruction.

The project is working on a solution to ensure that data collected, compiled, and processed during the course of a research project can be organized digitally in a sustainable manner and made available.

History of Court Music in Southwest Germany in the 18th Century

The comprehensive collection and cataloging of archival and musical sources makes an important contribution to the social and institutional history of court orchestras in southwestern Germany.
