The peripatetic meeting takes place once a year in cooperation with a state university or other research institutions in Baden-Württemberg. This year, the University of Freiburg and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems are partners. The event is open to the public, and admission is free.

Ingo Krossing is a professor of inorganic chemistry at the University of Freiburg and a member of the Freiburg Materials Research Center as well as the Freiburg Center for Interactive Materials and Bioinspired Technologies (FIT). He is also an elected member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. His research focuses on energy conversion and storage, with the goal, among other things, of developing environmentally friendly fuels and converting CO₂ through catalysis. He has already received two Advanced Grants from the European Research Council (ERC) to support his research.

Hans-Martin Henning is Professor of “Solar Energy Systems” at the University of Freiburg and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. Since 2020, he has served as Chair of the German Federal Government’s Expert Council on Climate Issues. He is an elected member of acatech (German Academy of Science and Engineering). He is also a member of the scientific advisory board for the “Roadmap Efficiency Strategy 2050” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, as well as spokesperson for the Research Alliance for Renewable Energies (FVEE). Since 2021, he has been Chairman of the Fraunhofer Group “Energy Technologies and Climate Protection” and a member of the Executive Board of the Fraunhofer Society.
