Physical and Psychological Stability in Extreme Situations. Physical Models for Understanding Health Stability
The project is dedicated to the question of how mental stability and health-related quality of life of individuals change over time. The central theme of this interdisciplinary study is to investigate the physical/mental changes that may disrupt previously stable everyday life, even to the brink of instability, and their effects on human health. This research project will utilize expertise from the fields of psychotherapy, psychosomatics, medicine and physics to assess the mental stability of consenting participants by using time series and physical models for real time analysis. Following the critical behavior of physical systems in the vicinity of phase transitions in real time will help us to identify patterns of upheavals from empirical data. Through real-time analysis, we expect to gain conclusive information on advantages for preventive healthcare measures.
