The submission proceeds in two steps. Please also see the conditions for proposals.
Please submit a proposal outline by 31 December 2019. Please use the provided template. This outline, which corresponds to a nonbinding declaration of intent, should state
- the tentative title of the project,
- discuss the question and possible approaches,
- name already identified co-applicants from other disciplines, and
- from which other disciplines perhaps co-applicants should be involved.
The Academy will review the submitted proposal outlines and invite all selected applicants to a one-day discussion meeting on 17 January 2020. Participation in this meeting is mandatory for the submission of a full proposal.
Applicants' travel expenses for long-distance train tickets (2nd class) will be reimbursed by the Academy according the State Travel Expenses Law. On this day the applicants will be able to mingle with each other, learn about their collegues' project proposals, confer with each other and find co-applicants for their own interdisciplinary projects or develop joint interdisciplinary projects together. The aim of the meeting is to bring applicants from different disciplines together to define a joint project and to submit a full proposal together.
After the WIN discussion meeting the interdisciplinary full proposal has to be submitted to the Academy by 30 April 2020. Please use the template as basis for your proposal. Only jointly submitted proposals from different disciplines will be accepted. The decision regarding funding will be made by mid of September.
