Personal requirements and preconditions for submitting a proposal
- PhD degree or Habilitation (venia legendi)
- To be younger than 35 at the time of admission to the WIN College
- Employment at a research institution in Baden-Württemberg
- No appointment as professor for life at the time of submitting the proposal
Each proposal outline and each full proposal must be interdisciplinary in nature, i.e., the applicants should already be collaborating across disciplines in their project. The full proposal should describe in detail how interdisciplinary collaboration contributes towards exploring the project and/or the overall topic of the call for proposals.
Financial support is set to last for three years and begins on 1 January 2021. After applying for an extension and following the successful evaluation of the results obtained thus far in the project, this period can be extended by a maximum of two years. The funding intends to provide sufficient support for the College members to carry out their project and to take part in the regular joint WIN College meetings within the context of the overall topic. Funds for personnel, research assistants, and materials can be applied for. However, no large equipment can be applied for. The Academy does not provide any office space during the funding period.
Interested scientists should also be willing to collaborate with other sponsored College members within the overall topic “Stability and Instability of Conditions – Key concepts for understanding transitions, turning points and transformation processes“. Participation in selected events of the Academy (twice a year) and meetings of the WIN College (four times a year) are mandatory.
