Who qualifies for nomination?
The nominees for the award should not have completed their doctorate for more than 5 years. The work on which the nomination is based should have been published or submitted for publication in the preceding two years. The prize cannot be awarded to more than one nominee. However, if several candidates are equally involved in a work, the prize can be awarded to them in equal parts.
The Hector Foundation Prize is awarded to the Department of Computer Science.
Who may nominate?
- all members of the mathematics and natural sciences class
- all heads of scientific institutions of the universities
- all heads of non-university research institutes in the state of Baden-Württemberg
- self-nominations are not permitted
What needs to be submitted?
- justification of the proposal of a maximum of two pages
- Curriculum Vitae
- list of publications
- the prize-worthy work

When will a decision be made?
The Academy announces its decision at the beginning of the year. The award winner and their mentor will be informed of the result in writing.
