Who qualifies for nomination?
The prize is awarded to a young researcher for outstanding scientific work. The proposed work should have been accepted as a scientific achievement by a university or research institute in the state of Baden-Württemberg and should have been published or submitted for publication in the preceding two years.
The nominees for the award should not be older than 35 years. If several candidates are equally involved, the prize can be awarded to them in equal parts.
Who may nominate?
- all members of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities
- the heads of all scientific institutions of the universities in Baden-Württemberg (rectorates, deaneries, managing directors, institute directors)
- the heads of all non-university research institutions in Baden-Württemberg (managing directors)
- self-nominations are not permitted
What needs to be submitted?
- justification of the proposal of a maximum of two pages
- curriculum vitae
- list of publications
- the prize-worthy work
The documents should be sent as one PDF file to hadw[at]hadw-bw.de.
When will a decision be made?
The Academy announces its decision at the beginning of the year. The award winner and their mentor will be informed of the result in writing.
